Visconti Park, Medieval hunting park in Pavia, Italy

The Visconti Park extends across 2,200 hectares between Pavia Castle and Certosa di Pavia monastery, enclosed by 25 kilometers of surrounding walls.

Established in 1360 by Galeazzo II Visconti, the park later suffered extensive damage during the Battle of Pavia in 1525 when 50,000 troops fought within its grounds.

Geoffrey Chaucer mentioned the gardens in his Canterbury Tales after visiting the Visconti court in 1378, contributing to the park's European recognition.

Three nature reserves within the park maintain the environmental heritage, connected by cycling paths and walking trails for current visitors.

The park contained over 5,000 deer during the Sforza period and featured an indoor swimming pool connected to a fish pond.
