San Francesco, Narni

The church features a broad sculpted portal arch on its square facade, with three naves separated by cylindrical columns inside the building.

Construction of San Francesco began shortly after Saint Francis's death in 1226, following his visit to Narni where he performed several miracles.

The Eroli Chapel contains a series of frescoes from 1461 depicting eight scenes from the life of Saint Francis painted by Pier Antonio Mezzastris.

The church remains open to visitors throughout the year, offering access to its medieval architecture and extensive collection of religious artwork.

Under the main altar rests the preserved relics of Blessed Matteo Prosperi, adding to the religious importance of this 13th-century structure.
