Australian pavilion, National pavilion at Giardini della Biennale, Venice, Italy.

The black granite-clad structure of 240 square meters features a minimalist design with concrete and steel elements for exhibition spaces.

Australia established its presence at the Venice Biennale in 1954, with the first permanent pavilion constructed in 1987 by architect Philip Cox.

The pavilion presents Australian contemporary art and architecture through exhibitions that incorporate Indigenous perspectives and modern artistic expressions.

The venue opens during Venice Biennale events from May to November, with professional staff guiding visitors through rotating exhibitions.

In 2024, artist Archie Moore's exhibition at the Australian Pavilion received the Golden Lion award for Best National Participation.
