Construction of the current structure began in 1714 with foundation stone placement and continued for forty years until the facade completion in 1762.
The interior displays numerous artworks including paintings by Giovan Battista Moroni, Palma il Giovane, and an altar designed by architect Giacomo Quarenghi.
The church maintains regular opening hours from 8:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 19:00, serving the local community as both a religious and cultural center.
The bell towers contain twelve bells, with eight cast in 1950 and four added in 2006, creating a complete musical scale in B flat major.
