Regional decentralization entity of Udine

The Regional Decentralization Entity of Udine is an administrative division in Friuli Venezia Giulia that stretches from the Venetian Prealps down to the lowland plains. It brings together around 134 municipalities and manages public services across a large northeastern territory.

The Province of Udine was dissolved in 2017 and replaced by this new administrative entity, formally established on July 1, 2020. This restructuring changed how local governance and public services are organized in the region.

The territory encompasses 134 municipalities across northeastern Italy, including communities near the borders of Austria and Slovenia, creating a multilingual administrative region.

The administrative headquarters is located in Udine and coordinates services through a network of municipal offices and digital platforms. Visitors or residents can address their needs at the local offices distributed across the territory.

The northern part contains mountain lakes and pine forests, while the southwestern area features farmland. The central districts produce well-regarded white wines that are recognized throughout Italy.
