Mutah University, Public university in Al-Karak, Jordan.
Mutah University is a public higher education institution in Al-Karak with fifteen faculties offering programs in medicine, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. The campus houses specialized research centers such as the facility for Dead Sea studies and several language learning facilities.
The institution was founded in 1981 by royal decree and began as a national center offering both military and civilian higher education. This made it one of the first institutions in the region to unite both fields under one roof.
The university serves as a regional hub for students from southern Jordan and draws learners from across the country. Campus life brings together education that would otherwise be dispersed across different areas.
The campus is well equipped with modern facilities for research and language learning that support various fields of study. Visitors should note that specialized centers such as the research laboratory may have different access arrangements.
The Faculty of Medicine has grown noticeably, expanding quickly from small beginnings to a larger teaching facility. This growth reflects increasing demand for medical education in the southern region.
