Endo Shusaku Literary Museum, Literary and biographical museum in Sotome district, Nagasaki, Japan
The Endo Shusaku Literary Museum displays over 25,000 items including manuscripts, letters, photographs, and personal belongings of the Japanese novelist Shusaku Endo.
Established in May 2000, the museum preserves the legacy of Shusaku Endo, who wrote extensively about Christianity in Japan through novels like Silence.
The collection includes Endo's writing desk, Bible, rosary, and a statue of Mary inherited from his mother, reflecting his Catholic identity and literary themes.
Located two minutes from Michinoeki Bus Stop, the museum charges 360 yen for adults and 200 yen for students, operating daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In January 2022, researchers at the museum discovered three previously unknown plays written by Endo, increasing his documented theatrical works from seven to ten.
