Konan

Kōnan extends across 126.46 square kilometers of southeastern Kōchi Prefecture, facing Tosa Bay on the Pacific Ocean with a population of 33,076 residents.

The administrative structure of Kōnan emerged through the merger of four towns and Yoshikawa village on March 1, 2006, leading to the dissolution of Kami District.

The Suruda Hachimangu Festival, Ekin Festival in July, and Doreme Festival in April maintain the traditions of this Pacific coastal community.

The municipality maintains seven elementary schools, four middle schools, and one high school, providing education services to the local population.

The Shikoku Automobile Museum contains vehicles from Japan and international manufacturers, with particular emphasis on cars from 1960 through 1980.
