Ryoma History Museum

The Ryoma History Museum presents collections of historical documents, personal items, and multimedia displays about the life of Ryoma Sakamoto through multiple exhibition spaces.

The museum, which opened on November 23, 1988, commemorates Ryoma Sakamoto's role in transforming Japan from a feudal society to a modern nation during the 1860s.

The museum exhibits include the Boshin War Picture Scroll and documented lists of Shinsengumi soldiers, representing the complex social changes of nineteenth-century Japan.

The exhibition hall opens daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM with an entrance fee of 300 yen for adults, while visitors under 17 years enter free.

The museum maintains an extensive collection of Ryoma's handwritten letters and the sword connected to his death, providing direct links to his historical period.
