Yosano, Town district in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.
Yosano is a town district in Kyoto Prefecture, located in the Yosa area between mountains and the coastline. The Nodagawa River flows north through the region and connects to Miyazu Bay near the natural landscape formation Ama-no-Hashidate.
The location traces its roots to the ancient Tango Province and underwent numerous local reorganizations over centuries. The current form of Yosano came together on March 1, 2006, when several municipalities merged into one administrative area.
The Tango Chirimen History Museum occupies a former factory and displays the region's silk weaving heritage through hands-on demonstrations. This textile tradition remains deeply connected to how local people have shaped their community over time.
The area is accessible by the Kyoto Tango Railway Miyazu Line, which connects several nearby locations. Alternatively, national highways 176, 178, and 312 provide car routes from surrounding towns and cities.
The Taki-no-Sennen Tsubaki Park holds a camellia tree that is over a thousand years old and designated as a Kyoto Prefectural Natural Monument. This ancient tree stands as a remarkable survivor, drawing visitors interested in seeing one of the region's longest-living plants.
