Ibigawa, Rural municipality in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

The Ibi River courses through this town of 21,319 residents, set against mountains and hills in western Gifu Prefecture, covering 803 square kilometers.

The region transformed from a 30,000 koku domain under Nishio clan control during the Edo period to its current form through municipal mergers in 2005.

Each season brings traditional celebrations to Ibigawa, where residents maintain agricultural practices that shape local food preparation methods and community gatherings.

The town contains six elementary schools, five middle schools, one high school, and connects to other areas via the Tarumi Railway and National Routes 303 and 417.

Parts of Ibigawa fall within Ibi-Sekigahara-Yōrō Quasi-National Park, receiving substantial annual rainfall of 2,517 millimeters and winter mountain snow.
