Minami-ku, Administrative ward in Nagoya, Japan.

Minami-ku covers 18.46 square kilometers in the southern part of Nagoya, extending towards Ise Bay with a population of 136,015 residents.

The ward emerged from the Owari Domain territories and officially became part of Nagoya's administrative structure on April 1, 1908.

Nippon Gaishi Hall and Kasadera Kannon temple stand as principal landmarks in Minami-ku, representing both modern and traditional Japanese architecture.

The Central Japan Railway Company's Tokkaido Main Line and multiple bus routes provide transportation connections throughout the ward and to central Nagoya.

Former salt production fields and seaweed harvesting areas transformed into industrial zones, with the Mitsubishi Motors factory operating until 2000.
