Midland Square, Observation deck in Meieki district, Nagoya, Japan
Midland Square is a 247-meter office tower in Nagoya with a public observation deck accessible to visitors. The deck in the upper levels provides 360-degree views spanning the entire metropolitan region below.
Designed by architect Nikken Sekkei, the tower opened to the public in 2007. This marked a significant addition to Nagoya's skyline with its contemporary glass construction.
The building brings together office spaces and public galleries, housing major media companies within its glass structure. Visitors experience how work and leisure coexist in a contemporary urban setting.
The deck is easily accessible via elevators that lead directly to the upper levels. Comfortable shoes are recommended if you plan to explore the different viewing areas or move around during busy periods.
During summer months, the platform becomes an elevated beer garden where visitors can enjoy drinks in the open air above the city. This transforms the ordinary viewing experience into a social gathering among the lights.
