Yoshimi

The municipality stretches across 38.64 square kilometers of central Saitama Prefecture, encompassing lowlands near the upper Arakawa River and sections of Hiki Hills Nature Park.

The modern town emerged from the 1954 consolidation of four villages - Higashi-Yoshimi, Minami-Yoshimi, Nishi-Yoshimi, and Kita-Yoshimi - receiving town status in November 1972.

Archaeological excavations throughout Yoshimi have uncovered numerous burial mounds and artifacts from the Kofun period, dating between the third and sixth centuries.

The town maintains six elementary schools and one middle school, while transportation relies on local roads as there are no passenger rail services or national highways.

Yoshimi produces strawberries and features the Hundred Caves complex, a National Historic Site that includes multiple ancient tunnels and chambers carved into the hillsides.
