Tokyo-wan Kannon, Colossal Buddhist statue in Futtsu, Japan.
The Tokyo-wan Kannon rises 56 meters above Tokyo Bay, featuring an observation deck accessible through 324 internal steps.
The statue was constructed in 1961 under the direction of Masae Usami as a monument representing the aspirations for global peace after World War II.
The statue represents Kannon, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, and contains numerous art pieces created by the renowned artist Mr. Hasegawa.
Visitors can access the observation platform for 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children, with the site requiring personal transportation to reach.
The observation deck provides views of Mount Fuji, Tokyo Bay, and the Uraga Channel, with special viewing spots within the statue's extended arms.
