Shōtō, Residential district in Shibuya, Japan
Shōtō occupies the southwestern section of Shibuya-ku, sharing borders with Kamiyamachō, Udagawachō, Dōgenzaka, Shinsenchō, Maruyamachō, and Komaba. The residential zone features quiet streets and low-rise buildings that climb gently up the hillside away from the commercial center.
The area once housed a guest residence belonging to the Tokyo governor, used for official receptions and visits. The Kanze Noh Theatre stood here before moving to its current home in Ginza.
The neighborhood features the Shoto Museum of Art, Toguri Museum of Art, and the Nishino Ballet Troupe Head Office for artistic experiences.
Shinsen Station on the Keio Inokashira Line offers the most direct access from the west side of the area. The streets run uphill, so walking requires a bit of stamina.
The district includes a junior high school and a campus of Yamazaki University of Animal Nursing. Both institutions sit within the residential blocks and form part of the neighborhood's daily life.
