Mt. Hiuchi, Mountain summit in Niigata Prefecture, Japan

Mount Hiuchi reaches 2,462 meters in elevation and features deep snow conditions that support numerous alpine plants including the Siberian Dwarf Pine.

The mountain became part of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park in 1956 before being incorporated into the current Togakushi-Renzan National Park structure.

Mount Hiuchi stands among Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, with the Hakusankozakura flower recognized by artist Sumie Tanaka as its representative botanical symbol.
