Mount Hayachine

Mount Hayachine rises 1,917 meters above sea level, featuring steep rocky slopes and metal chains to assist climbers near its uppermost sections.

The mountain's geological formation dates back millions of years, consisting of ancient rock structures that predate volcanic activity in the region.

Local communities maintain traditional rituals at Mount Hayachine, marking seasonal changes and agricultural cycles through ceremonies at designated spots.

Climbers can access the mountain via Route 396 from Morioka to Ohasama, then Route 43 toward Hayachine Dam until reaching the registration point.

The summit provides clear views of both Miyako city and the Pacific Ocean to the east, while revealing Shiwa and Hanamaki towns toward the western horizon.
