Shiiba

Shiiba spreads across 537 square kilometers of mountainous terrain in northwest Miyazaki Prefecture, with peaks reaching heights of 1,700 meters.

The village establishment occurred on May 1, 1889, during the implementation of Japan's modern municipalities system in the Miyazaki Prefecture.

The Heike Festival in November presents parades and performances where residents wear traditional costumes to commemorate an ancient samurai love story.

Transportation to the village requires a 120-minute bus journey from Hyuga Station, followed by a 20-minute community bus connection.

The village maintains a student exchange program with Singapore, enabling local students to participate in international cultural experiences during vacation periods.
