Yunomae Manga Museum, Comics museum in Yunomae, Japan
The Yunomae Manga Museum exhibits a collection of 50,000 manga books arranged on walls, displaying various genres and artistic styles of Japanese comics.
The museum building, designed by architect Hideaki Katsura, opened its doors in November 1992 as a center dedicated to manga art and culture.
The museum features permanent exhibitions about notable manga artists and their contributions, including works from the Taisho era through 2005.
Researchers can access over 250,000 materials in the reference room and utilize the database search system containing approximately 300,000 cataloged items.
Regular Kamishibai performances at the museum demonstrate traditional Japanese storytelling through sequential images with live narration.
