Gwacheon, Administrative city in Gyeonggi, South Korea
Gwacheon is a city in Gyeonggi Province between Seoul and Anyang featuring administrative buildings and modern urban developments. The city spans roughly 36 square kilometers and combines government-oriented structures with residential areas.
The region was originally known as Yulmok-gun and was renamed Gwacheon-hyeon in 1413 during the Goryeo period. This administrative reorganization marked a turning point in local governance history.
The National Museum for Contemporary Art showcases Korean and international artworks in spacious galleries housed within former government buildings. Visitors can explore different artistic directions and discover both local and international artists here.
