The temple stands among traditional Korean structures at the coordinates 37.4119 N and 127.035 E in the Cheonggyesan mountain region.
Built during the Silla Kingdom period, Cheonggyesa represents the early establishment of Buddhism in the Korean peninsula through architectural preservation.
The temple belongs to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and maintains regular ceremonies that connect present-day practitioners with centuries-old traditions.
Visitors can reach the temple via Indeogwon Station on Line 4 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, followed by a 10-minute taxi ride.
