Geumsan County

Geumsan County is an administrative county in South Korea's Hoseo region with diverse landscapes. The area combines agricultural land with rolling and mountainous terrain spread across approximately 576 square kilometers.

The region was originally known as Jinnae-gun during the Baekje period before being renamed in 1914. This change resulted from a broader administrative reorganization that consolidated multiple territories.

The World Insam Festival takes place from September through October, showcasing ginseng products and traditional farming methods. Visitors can experience local craftsmanship and agricultural practices that have been maintained across generations.

The county is easily accessible through multiple bus connections from Seoul and neighboring cities. A well-developed transportation network makes it straightforward to travel throughout the region.

The region produces more than 80 percent of South Korea's ginseng and hosts the country's largest specialized ginseng market. This concentration of cultivation and trade makes it the hub of the nation's ginseng industry.
