Yangdong Folk Village

The village contains over 160 traditional houses spread across 91 hectares of forested land, surrounded by mountains and streams in the countryside.

Established in the 15th century by Son So, the village flourished during the Joseon Dynasty and maintains 54 houses that are more than 200 years old.

The village layout follows social hierarchies with aristocratic residences placed on higher ground, while commoner dwellings occupy the lower areas of the settlement.

Visitors can reach the village by taking a bus from Gyeongju city, with multiple daily departures that stop near the entrance of the historical site.

The village preserves traditional rice cake making methods where local women use wooden mallets to prepare ddeok following centuries-old techniques.
