창경궁 대온실, Greenhouse in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Changgyeonggung Great Greenhouse is Korea's first Western-style greenhouse, built in 1909 with a mixed cast-iron, steel and timber frame enclosed in glass. It stands inside Changgyeonggung Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and was registered as National Registered Cultural Property No. 83 on 6 February 2004.

Built in 1909, the greenhouse combines a cast-iron and timber frame with a glass envelope, the first Western-style greenhouse in Korea. It was registered as National Registered Cultural Property No. 83 on 6 February 2004. A restoration completed on 10 November 2017 returned the building closer to its original form.

The greenhouse displays about 70 plant species, among them a successor tree of the Changdeokgung juniper, Natural Monument No. 194, and a successor of the Bijindo fatsia from Tongyeong. The 2017 restoration relaid floor tiles in the style of the original Minton Hollins tiles made in England.

The greenhouse stands inside Changgyeonggung Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul, next to the palace's administrative building that was restored with it. The 2017 renovation took one year and three months, so the glasshouse and its attached office can be seen in their early-20th-century form. Look for the floor tiles remade after the Minton Hollins pattern of 1905.

The floor tiles were recreated from part of the original English Minton Hollins tiles found on site, matched against the manufacturer's 1905 catalogue during the 2017 restoration. The adjoining caretaker's building had later insulation removed to recover its original form. Among the 70 or so plants on display are successor trees of the Natural Monument No. 194 Changdeokgung juniper and the Bijindo fatsia from Tongyeong.
