Museum of History of Kokshetau

The Museum of History of Kokshetau occupies a two-story brick building from 1904, featuring six exhibition halls dedicated to regional heritage and natural history.

The institution began operations in 1949 as a local history museum within the district department of public education, later expanding its collections and scope.

The museum maintains over 83,000 artifacts that document the traditions, customs, and historical development of the Akmola Region through dedicated exhibition spaces.

Visitors can explore multiple themed sections including the Hall of Nature, Hall of Great Steppe Civilization, and halls focusing on different periods of Akmola's history.

The museum building stands as a protected architectural monument and houses an open-air exhibition called Botai-Burabay displaying Eneolithic era artifacts.
