Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, Political history museum in Vientiane, Laos.
The museum exhibits artifacts, photographs, and documents illustrating the life of former Lao leader Kaysone Phomvihane and the revolutionary movement.
The museum opened in December 1995 to commemorate the 75th birthday of Kaysone Phomvihane, the first leader of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
The Vietnamese-style building contains a complete collection of items, including a replica of Kaysone's childhood home and personal belongings from his time in caves.
The museum stands near Route 13 south, accessible by bicycle or tuk-tuk transportation from central Vientiane for approximately 40,000 Kip.
A large bronze statue of Kaysone Phomvihane stands at the entrance, accompanied by sculptures depicting various ethnic groups and athletic figures.
