Church of Our Lady of the Scapular, Druskininkai

The Church of Our Lady of the Scapular is a Gothic Revival building with a rectangular footprint topped by a central bell tower reaching high above the roofline. Four corner turrets frame the structure and create a distinctive profile when viewed from the town's streets.

An early masonry church occupied the site from 1841 to 1844 but did not survive. The current structure rose between 1912 and 1931, designed by architect Stefan Szyller in response to the growing local population.

The church serves a community with deep ties to Poland, as many worshippers have Polish heritage or family connections across the border. Visitors often notice people lighting candles and praying quietly before the shrine dedicated to Mary.

The interior is open to visitors during daylight hours, with services held at scheduled times throughout the week and on Sundays. Plan your visit outside of service times if you wish to walk around and observe the interior details without interruption.

The main altar was relocated here in 1946 from a chapel at a nearby manor house and has remained ever since. This transplanted piece connects the church to a wider regional history beyond its own walls.
