Velnio akmuo Švendubrėje, Prehistoric boulder near Švendubrė, Lithuania
The granite boulder measures 7.61 by 5.21 meters at ground level and stands 3.23 meters high in the Viečiūnai Eldership district.
The stone became an archaeological monument in 1972, and investigations in 1988 revealed ancient depressions suggesting ritual practices from prehistoric times.
According to local tales, the Devil carried this boulder across the Nemunas River, intending to construct Liškiava Castle or destroy Raigardo church.
Located 5 kilometers from Druskininkai on the right bank of the Nemunas River, visitors can observe wooden sculptures created in 2004 near the stone.
Nine depressions mark the eastern side of this pink-gray granite formation, with the largest depression measuring 4.5 centimeters in diameter.
