Eiguliai hillfort

Eiguliai hillfort is an ancient fortified settlement located on elevated ground near Kaunas in northern Lithuania. The site features the remains of earthen ramparts and ditches that once formed a defensive perimeter, and from its height visitors can see across the Neris River valley.

The hillfort developed during the Iron Age as one of many fortifications built across the Baltic lands. Archaeological work shows it was inhabited and maintained across several centuries before being abandoned.
