Vištytis Stone, Glacial erratic near Vištytis, Lithuania
The Vištytis Stone extends 7.10 meters in length, measures 4.74 meters in width, and stands 4 meters tall in southwestern Lithuania.
The stone was transported to its current location during the last ice age through glacial movements that shaped the Lithuanian landscape thousands of years ago.
Local residents tell stories about a devil who attempted to destroy the Vištytis church by carrying this enormous boulder but dropped it when a rooster crowed at midnight.
The stone features a natural hollow at its top where rainwater accumulates, making it simple to identify among other geological formations in the area.
This massive boulder ranks among the ten largest stones in Lithuania and contains distinct markings that local tales attribute to the devil's footprint.
