Rēzekne

Rēzekne is a city in eastern Latvia situated in a valley where a river runs through the landscape, with buildings distributed across rolling terrain. The town center contains shops, offices, and public spaces mixed with residential neighborhoods that spread across the surroundings.

A fortress was founded here in 1285, starting a period of continuous settlement in the area. The place received official city status in 1773.

The city's name comes from the Rēzekne River that flows through it, and locals gather in the central squares to socialize and shop. Walking through the streets, you notice how people move between the old town center and newer residential areas with ease.

The main train station connects the city with other locations through regular rail services. It is easy to arrive and move around using public transport.

An impressive cathedral from the late 1800s stands in the heart of the city with beautiful stained glass windows. This religious building is one of the most notable landmarks in the area.
