The Valmiera Drama Theatre maintains three halls: the main auditorium with 443 seats and two smaller spaces each accommodating 100 spectators.
Established in 1919, the theatre originated from amateur performances held since 1885 in the expanded premises of the Latvian Association of Valmiera.
The theatre presents all performances in Latvian language, regularly staging productions of classical works and contemporary pieces throughout the year.
Located at 4 Lāčplēša Street, the theatre serves as the primary professional performing arts venue in the entire Vidzeme region of Latvia.
The theatre organizes the Rūdolfs Blaumanis festival every three to five years, celebrating the works of this notable Latvian playwright.
