Embassy of Latgale GORS, Concert hall in Rēzekne, Latvia.
Embassy of Latgale GORS is a concert hall in Rezekne with two separate performance spaces designed for different event sizes. The larger hall accommodates more than 1000 people and the smaller one seats around 220, both equipped with acoustic systems for varied musical genres.
This became Latvia's first purpose-built acoustic concert hall when it opened in 2013, designed by architects Uldis Balodis and Daiga Bikše. The opening represented a significant shift in how the region hosted classical music performances.
The venue hosts the International Short Film Festival OPEN PLACE and the International Organ Music Festival ORGANismi, both shaped by what visitors discover when exploring Rezekne's cultural calendar. These events draw people interested in contemporary cinema and classical music throughout the year.
The venue sits centrally in Rezekne and is easy to reach on foot, with clear directions to both halls and facilities inside. Arriving early helps visitors adjust to the acoustics and explore the different performance spaces.
During warmer months, the rooftop terrace becomes an open-air cinema with views across Rezekne, offering an unusual blend of performances. This seasonal transformation gives the space a second purpose that visitors might not expect from a concert hall.
