Amanjena, hotel in Morocco
Amanjena is a hotel outside Marrakech set on 13 acres with 40 suites designed like private villas. The property includes multiple pools, a spa with four treatment rooms, traditional Moroccan hammams, two restaurants, and a yoga room on a mezzanine level.
The hotel was designed with traditional architecture that reflects old Moroccan villages and blends local craftsmanship with modern comfort. Designer Ed Tuttle shaped the creation with clay walls, curved forms, and symmetrical layouts that honor timeless Moroccan building traditions.
The name Amanjena means 'peaceful paradise' and reflects in design details that showcase traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. Thick clay walls, small windows, and tiled courtyards follow local building styles that visitors can experience today.
The hotel is about 12 kilometers from central Marrakech and roughly 20 minutes from Menara Airport; complimentary airport and train station transfers are available. Visitors should bring comfortable clothes for walking the gardens and elegant attire for the restaurants.
The hotel offers activities like donkey rides, calligraphy classes, and hikes into the Atlas Mountains, which can be arranged through the front desk. These experiences connect the stay with the surrounding landscape and allow visitors to explore life beyond the hotel grounds.
