Description
Devil's Farmhouse consists of two separate rectangular buildings with limestone slab roofs, slit windows, and drainage waterspouts located near Ta' Randa. The construction reflects traditional Maltese building methods from the period.
History
The structure was built in the 18th century during the Knights of Malta period and originally served as stables and a horse-riding school. It reflects the architectural traditions of that era on the island.
Culture
Local people tell stories about supernatural forces supposedly building the structure during full moon nights, giving rise to many folklore tales that remain part of the place's identity. These legends shaped the name and how residents think of this farmhouse today.
Practical
The building is in poor condition with collapsed roof sections and areas at risk of structural damage, so visitors should exercise caution when exploring the site. Be aware that the structure requires immediate restoration work for safety reasons.
