Auberge de Provence, Baroque auberge in Valletta, Malta

The Auberge de Provence stands on Republic Street with a symmetrical facade featuring rectangular windows, columns, and ornate architectural details across two floors.

Architect Girolamo Cassar designed the building in 1571 as headquarters for the Knights of St John from Provence, with additional modifications made in 1638.

The Grand Salon on the top floor contains painted walls and wooden beamed ceilings, now serving as exhibition space within the National Museum of Archaeology.

The National Museum of Archaeology occupies the building, displaying collections that represent the prehistoric periods of the Maltese archipelago through various artifacts.

The structure includes nine rectangular front rooms that were added later, evidenced by walled-up windows discovered during renovations of the original facade.
