Church of St Augustine, Victoria Gozo

The Church of St Augustine is a Baroque building in Victoria on the island of Gozo featuring solid stone architecture and four large religious statues at its entrance. The structure unites the church itself with an adjoining monastery complex in a single unified composition.

The present building was constructed between 1662 and 1666, replacing an earlier religious site documented as far back as 1435. This transition marks the shift from a medieval religious presence to a new Baroque complex.

The name honors Saint Augustine, whose veneration is central to this sanctuary's spiritual identity. Worshippers gather here regularly, and the interior reveals how the local community uses this space as a focal point for their faith.
