Gozo Museum of Archaeology

The Gozo Museum of Archaeology contains collections of ancient tools, pottery, and burial artifacts representing different historical periods of the Mediterranean island.

The museum began operations in 1960 and underwent substantial improvements in 1986 to incorporate additional archaeological findings from excavations across Gozo.

The collections display numerous artifacts from prehistoric temples, providing detailed information about religious practices and societal structures of ancient Maltese inhabitants.

Located in central Rabat, the museum opens daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with entry fees supporting the preservation of archaeological heritage.

The institution holds protective status within the National Inventory of Cultural Property while simultaneously housing protected artifacts from the same registry.
