2014 Chibok kidnapping, Kidnapping event in Nigeria
Over 200 girls were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok.
The kidnapping took place on the night of 14–15 April 2014.
This incident brought global attention to the Boko Haram insurgency.
The #BringBackOurGirls campaign was started to demand the return of the kidnapped students.
Some of the kidnapped girls managed to escape over time, but many remained missing for years.
