Philips Stadion, Football stadium in Eindhoven, Netherlands
Philips Stadion is a professional association football venue in Eindhoven where PSV plays its home matches. The ground features four covered stands that together hold 36,500 spectators, ranking it as the third-largest football arena in the Netherlands.
The site opened in 1913 as Philips Sportpark, originally serving employees of the company as a recreational facility. PSV moved in permanently later and developed the venue into one of the country's most important football grounds.
The venue maintains strong connections to its industrial heritage through its name and location near the former Philips manufacturing facilities in central Eindhoven.
The ground sits roughly ten minutes on foot from Eindhoven central station and is easy to reach by walking. Tours of the facility typically include changing rooms, player areas, and press spaces.
The arena hosted three group stage matches during the European Championship in 2000, including games between top national teams. It also staged the UEFA Cup final in 2006, when Sevilla faced Middlesbrough.
