De Admirant, Residential tower in Eindhoven, Netherlands
De Admirant is a residential tower with 31 floors rising to 105 meters along Emmasingel street in Eindhoven. The building features a geometric facade of glass and concrete, with ground-level retail spaces below apartments occupying the upper levels.
The tower was completed in 2006 as part of the redevelopment of a former Philips industrial complex. This project was central to shifting Eindhoven from a manufacturing hub to a modern urban center.
The building marks where the city transformed its industrial past into a modern neighborhood. It stands among converted factory buildings that now house residents and shops, reflecting how Eindhoven has reinvented itself.
The building sits in a central location with easy access to shops and services at ground level and nearby public transit. Walking around the exterior and neighborhood is straightforward, and the height offers panoramic views across the city for those who visit.
Most of the tower's components were manufactured offsite and assembled on location like puzzle pieces, except the first five floors which are solid cast concrete. This construction method significantly reduced building time during the district's redevelopment.
