The Blob

The Blob is an office building with curved glass and steel walls in Eindhoven. The structure has a flowing, organic form that recalls something living in motion, and it houses a shopping mall inside with various shops and services.

The building was created in 2012 as part of a program to reshape Eindhoven's center. Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas designed a striking form that gave the place a new face and brought innovative architecture to the Netherlands.

The name refers to the building's organic, amoeba-like form, which immediately catches attention through its unusual silhouette. Visitors notice how the structure shapes the space around it and creates a spot where modernity and everyday function come together.

The building sits centrally and is easy to reach on foot, with clear entrances to the shopping mall inside. The structure is designed so visitors can orient themselves easily, with good lighting and open spaces that show the way.

The exterior changes its appearance depending on time of day and light conditions, creating different colors and reflections. This constantly shifting visual experience makes each visit feel somewhat different.
