Gebouw Delftse Poort

Gebouw Delftse Poort is a modern skyscraper in Rotterdam composed of two connected towers, with the taller reaching 151 meters and clad in reflective blue glass. The complex spans 106,000 square meters and houses multiple office and commercial tenants across its 41 and 25 floors respectively.

The building was constructed between 1988 and 1991 on the site of a former city gate that stood from 1764 to 1940. This location represents a significant transformation in Rotterdam's development from a fortified city to a modern business center.

The building served as a corporate headquarters for decades before transforming into a mixed-use space housing multiple businesses. This shift reflects how Rotterdam adapts its commercial districts to modern working styles and flexible office arrangements.

The complex connects directly to Rotterdam Central Station through a four-story podium, making arrival and departure convenient. A modern elevator system with 28 lifts ensures quick movement between the numerous floors.

The two towers are joined by a central connecting block that runs through the middle of the structure, creating an integrated design that is unusual for buildings of this type. This bridge-like connector allows people to move freely between the two parts without stepping outside.
