Kaag en Braassem

Kaag en Braassem is a municipality in South Holland covering approximately 72 square kilometers across ten separate towns. The area combines land and water networks, with waterways forming an important part of its geography.

The municipality formed on January 1, 2009, when two former towns, Alkemade and Jacobswoude, merged into one administrative region. This consolidation created a new entity in western Holland.
