Griftpark, Public park in Utrecht, Netherlands
Griftpark is a recreational space in Utrecht with open lawns, a skate facility, a small football court, and a farm for children. A 220-meter vegetation wall runs through the site and serves as both a sound barrier and habitat for local wildlife.
The site follows the course of a historic waterway that once connected to the Grift canal. It opened to the public in 2014 after being transformed into a modern recreational destination.
Several art installations and sculptures are placed throughout the grounds, creating an intersection between nature and artistic expression in the urban environment.
The farm and playground operate Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and on weekends from 11 AM to 5 PM. The wider park remains open throughout the day with free access to all areas.
The park serves as a green link connecting different neighborhoods in Utrecht, creating a pathway across the city. This connecting role transforms it beyond a simple recreational area into a key link between communities.
