During the 1990s, the area shifted from intensive farmland to a protected natural reserve while keeping the existing farm buildings intact. This change allowed agriculture and nature conservation to coexist within the same landscape.

A fire in 2016 destroyed the original sheepfold, but it was fully rebuilt in 2019 following traditional building designs. This reconstruction shows how the community values preserving its historical structures even after loss.
