The Sint Urbanuskerk features a hexagonal tower rising 65 meters high, with three naves and a transept in the neo-gothic architectural style.
Pierre Cuypers designed this Roman Catholic church, which was constructed between 1875 and 1888, replacing a previous religious structure near De Poel.
The church functions as a central religious institution in Amstelveen, hosting regular services and maintaining two distinct pipe organs within its walls.
After extensive restoration following a severe fire in 2018, the church reopened its doors during Easter Vigil 2023 for religious ceremonies.
The adjacent rectory, built before the church completion, features red brick construction and wooden framework in a characteristic chalet style.
