De Rotterdam, Skyscraper in Feijenoord, Netherlands
De Rotterdam is a skyscraper in Rotterdam's harbor district made up of three connected towers. These buildings house offices, homes, and hotels that work together to create a mixed-use neighborhood on the waterfront.
Construction of this complex started in 2009 and finished in 2013, marking a turning point in Rotterdam's urban growth. The project was part of transforming the harbor area into a living neighborhood.
The building represents Rotterdam's commitment to vertical urbanization, designed by architects Rem Koolhaas, Reinier de Graaf, and Ellen van Loon from OMA.
The site is easy to reach from the harbor and has entrances for both pedestrians and public transport. Ground-level areas are open for visitors to explore the interior spaces and surroundings.
The three towers are not identical but have different shapes and heights from one another. These differences create an interesting collection of rooflines when viewed from a distance.
