Vinjeronden

Vinjeronden is a mountain summit in Rondane National Park that reaches 2,044 meters above sea level. The peak ranks among the highest points in the range and commands views across the surrounding mountains.

The summit's name traces back to Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, an important figure in Norwegian literature and culture from the 19th century. The peak has long served as a landmark within the regional mountain landscape.

Norwegian mountaineering traditions center around Rondvassbu tourist cabin, where climbers gather before ascending the surrounding peaks of Rondane National Park.

Hikes start from the Spranghaugen parking area and follow marked trails through the national park landscape. The route leads to Rondvassbu cabin, which serves as a base camp offering shelter for mountaineers attempting the ascent.

The summit marks a geographic tri-point between three Norwegian municipalities: Dovre, Folldal, and Sel, with a prominence of 93 meters from Rondeslottet.
